"Trust Your Eyes To Experience" Medical Ophthalmology Kirk A. Murdock, MD is a medical ophthalmologist based in our Hickory office. He was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and joined Southeastern Eye Center in 1996. He lives in Hickory with his wife, Leeann, and two boys, Zachary and Kyle. Dr Murdock received his undergraduate degree in Chemistry/Biology at Pomona College in Claremont, California in 1984. He attended Tulane University School of Medicine in New Orleans, Louisiana and there received his medical degree in 1988. His internship was completed in 1989 at Pacific Presbyterian Medical Center in San Franicisco, California. He completed his ophthalmology residency at North Shore University Hospital / Cornell University Medical College in Manhasset, New York in 1992. He worked with the Kaiser Permanente Medical Group and in private practice before joining Southeastern Eye Center. Dr. Murdock has been certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1994. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the North Carolina Medical Society, and the Catawba County Medical Society.
