Oculoplastic and Glaucoma Dr. Donald J. Bergin, M.D., F.A.C.S. is an oculoplastic and glaucoma specialist who joined Southeastern Eye Center in 1987. He and his wife, Nancy, have three children and live in Greensboro, North Carolina. Dr. Bergin graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 1972 and from Duke University Medical School in Durham, North Carolina in 1975. He completed his internship in general surgery at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. in 1980. His residency in ophthalmology was at Walter Reed Army Medical Center from 1976 through 1979. He completed a fellowship in orbital and lacrimal surgery at Moorefields Eye Hospital in London, England in 1983. He completed a fellowship in oculoplastic and reconstructive surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia in 1984. Dr. Bergin was certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology in 1980. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Fellow of the European Society of Oculoplastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the North Carolina Medical Society, Guilford County Medical Society, and several other organizations.
